CM Smt Anandiben Patel talked about various women-oriented initiatives taken up by Government of Gujarat
While interacting with members of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Ladies Organisation (FLO) on 14th October 2014.

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel discussed about various initiatives and schemes taken up by the State government for the upliftment of women. She said that through Gender Budget, Gujarat Government is committed to the cause of empowering women in every sector and every field possible. Women from various fields like art, architecture, design, food industry, entrepreneurship were present in the audience as members of FICCI Ladies Organisation.

With grand success of various initiatives towards all-round development of Gujarat, FICCI Ladies Organisation announced that they will document the best practices adopted by the state government and set it as an example for other states to follow.

CM Smt Anandiben Patel spoke about the achievements of Gatisheel Gujarat – Target 100 days, and the successful implementation of Loksamvad Setu through which public grievances are resolved on the spot. She shared that the state government is taking remarkable steps to encourage women in rural areas towards farming and cattle rearing by distributing milking machines, chaff cutters and bulk milk coolers. Also, state government has encouraged creating women milk cooperatives and making women of Gujarat self-reliant and economically-independent. CM Smt Patel also informed women in the audience about the success of Sakhi Mandals across rural Gujarat. Members of FICCI Ladies Organisation appreciated CM’s initiative of waiving registration fee on registration of land/property/cars in the name of woman. CM Smt Patel also reiterated her commitment towards eradicating malnutrition, fighting against female foeticide and building toilets across Gujarat.

CM Smt Anandiben Patel appealed the women present in the audience to contribute in achieving 100% in-house toilets across rural Gujarat. She also urged them to spread awareness among the people living in villages on cleanliness and sensitize them on using the toilets. Getting inspired by CM Smt Anandiben Patel’s vision, women of FICCI Ladies Organisation pledged to build 50 toilets in rural areas and showed willingness to adopt villages for the same purpose, if needed

CM Smt. Anandiben Patel appreciated conceptualizationo of novel programs for Women Empowerment and Child Upliftment in Gujarat. She further hoped that such program would become exemplary for other states to follow. 

The debate was attended by more than 150 women participants.
