What is a Blog? Who is
a Blogger & what does Official Blogger mean? This
and many more questions as to Pros & cons of
Blogging might pop up in mind who aren't tech savvy.
There are a number of ways I could answer this
question ranging from the broad to the highly
technical aspects of Blogging; be it English or
Gujarati, any other language. Let me attempt a
few comments to help you get your head swirl around
it.
A few definitions for a start may explain the word 'Blog'
(You may watch for more words like this in my
forthcoming articles on Blook (LuLu) & Author blog
(Amazon)
A blog is basically a journal that is available on the
web. The activity of updating a blog is “blogging”
and someone who writes and updates a blog is a “blogger.”
A weblog is kind of a continual tour, with a human
guide who you get to know who develop an audience who
can comment on posts and read archives.
You can call it a Diary, Journal, referred as Weblog.
Daily or random updated by Bloggers who can be anyone
who wish to write their thoughts, news, views,
opinions, etc. Who need not register a domain or host
but can use services of Blog Platforms listed on the
side - either Free or paid with minimum charges. Even
Blog at Blogging communities rising on web.
Blogs are usually (but not always) written by one
person and are updated pretty regularly. Blogs are
often (but not always) written on a particular topic -
there are blogs on virtually any topic you can think
of. From News & current affairs, Literature &
Poems, Books & music reviews, arts &
photography, Religion & spirituality, Food &
Drink or recipes, Tech briefs or Games, to Personal Diaries,
Hobbies - blogging has as many applications and
varieties you can imagine or say, cope to write. Whole
blog communities have sprung up around some of these
topics putting people into contact with each other in
relationships where they can learn, share ideas, make
friends with and even do business with people with
similar interests from around the world.
Merriam-Webster's
Dictionary awarded it "the word of the year"
in 2004. In that particular year, the percentage of
Internet users who had read blogs spiked sharply from
17% to 27%. It's 2006 and the Blogging is become a
'Revolution'. Nielsen/NetRatings found blog readership
has grown 31% since the beginning of the year, as
blogs attracted 29.3 million visitors in July 2005.
About one in five Internet users visit blogs, the
research firm said. The flourishing of blogs,
estimated at more than 700,000 worldwide, has created
a new space for self-expression on political and
social matters. Though majority of the Blog community
blog for a choice, Bloggers have found way to great
Earning on web through Google, Blog Ads, Affiliate
earnings, etc. Hired Bloggers are in demand and Pay is
all over the map - from a low of $4 per post (minimum
125 posts per month) to a flat fee of up to $75,000
for a sponsored site, according to research by Blog
Business Summit. Full-time, salaried bloggers earn in
the $20,000 to $70,000 range, depending on skill level
and benefits. Recently, there has been some business
interest in buying blogs and hiring their authors as
employees. If you're an expert within your industry or
passionate hobbyist who can bring insight to a topic
-- and have the ability to turn a phrase, your musings
may attract a buyout offer. Strong traffic to your
blog, numerous links to it from other blogs and
frequent reader feedback are a few signs your blog is
generating buzz that can attract buyers. Corporate
buyers are looking at personal blogs. How much a
corporate buyer would be willing to pay for a blog
varies depending on the content and there you attract
a coveted crowd. The type of readership your blog
draws may affect the value of your blog to potential
buyers. News were around in my mail box that
Wealthyblogger.com Blog was sold for $2,000.
Well, Blogging is not a
cup of tea for any Tom, Dick & Harry. It demands
serious Blogging. Creating posts every day
proves a tougher challenge, and the vast majority of
blogs don't last for very long. Non-writers who think
writing is easy find out that one to three entries a
day, every day, doesn't just roll out of the brain and
into the ‘post comment' field of a blog. Efforts do
pay in results.

GUARDIAN
OF ANGELS: A practical guide to Joyful Parenting
by ilaxi patel
I didn't have the faintest idea
on how to Blog in Gujarati in the beginning. Neither I am a
Programmer nor even know how to instal a windows CD or write
any programming language. One do not require to be a tech
savvy to Blog in Gujarati if you are using the copy+paste
method in Blogger. It requires only a wee bit of code and how
to read with right fonts in Gujarati. You only need to
download the fonts (Shree Fonts) (Krishna Fonts) or use Shruti
Fonts/any other downloaded fonts on your computer. You than
need to write your post with these fonts for which, you need
to know Gujarati typing / or copy+paste and edit method.
For Indic Me, you need not know
gujarati typing but a little help suits the purpose of writing
the words with additional inputs.
Well, an explanation your way
here will help you know better on How to write in Gujarati
: Way with Gujarati Fonts usage or using INDIC ME
1. Download Fonts : Shree or
Krishna or use Shruti, any other gujarati downloaded fonts on
your Computer.
2. Right click above fonts
& Save in your Computer > Windows>Programs>Fonts.
3. Close and open Word - check
if the fonts there on Font Bar. If not, refresh or restart.
4. Open your Word. Select fonts
and start writing. If you have any contents written in the
said fonts you choose, you can copy+paste, edit and make your
own post. (you can select any single topic like glamour page
from Gujarati site who use this font and edit the
original)
5. When done. Log to www.blogger.com
and sign up or if you have a blog in english, add new.
6. Inside Blogger, create post.
Put the code as follows:
<p><font face="Krishna" size="4">.copy+paste
here gujarati post you have written in your word doc.</font></p>
If you wish to add English
alongwith Gujarati, please follow the code as follows:
<p><font face="verdana"
size="2">English eg. Ilaxi's Font help Guide</font></p>
(You can change the size
i.e."4" or "2" to big or small you wish)
7. Once you do this, you can
add an image. On top bar of create post, click Add image,
select from your computer, press done). You will find a code
on your post. Copy and paste this code to your post where you
want.
8. Preview - you may see broken
words of your fonts. Do not worry. Go to IE
Bar>View>Select Unicode (UTF 8). Still, if you can't see
proper, go to Tools>Internet Options>Fonts>select
fonts you written the post>ok.
9. Now you will be able to read
proper. Submit the Post and Log out.
10. Put your url of the Blog -
See; You are Blogging in Gujarati.
(Remember to change the fonts
in IE>Tools>Internet Options>Fonts>select) because
when you surf other websites using default arial fonts, these
sites will appear junk.
If you see the above fonts as junk, you will have to download Shree
(first example) and
Krishna
(second example) Gopika
(third example and follow the instructions: Right
