Believe in the cause and effect? Believe in life after death? Whatever be, one thing is damn sure. If you believe in karma or kismet - if you give Negativity, it will come back to you. Negativity can destroy the body and soul.
It’s always an inner strength and a greater power around which creates positive energy.
If there is an absence of this, it may potentially harm your inner self, ruin your career, strain your relations with people around and even shatter a person completely!
Some time ago, a friend unfriended out of misunderstanding, out of complexity of nature, out of lack of self confidence and can say, wrecked out of Negativity. The status quote on this unfriended friend on Facebook said, “Two fundamentals of cool life – Walk like you are the King or Walk like you don’t care – who ever is King!” In response, the comment goes, “In your business, if you walk like you don’t care, you are Loser, Guarantee.” Offensive comment? It’s quite practical that in Hospitality business, if you walk like you don’t care, you are a loser someday! The anger vent on a chat left me depressed with the Negativity of the so called friend who bombed, ‘I am the boss. I will not care to pick up the dishes like a waiter, I don’t care” – Ugh, a loser, I summed up and in frustration, he unfriended me! Later on, I researched to realize that it was a worry, anxiety and uncertainty of business that made him took the comment to self even though it was a general quote.
Here comes the conclusion of taking comments in a positive manner. A quote is a quote but a comment is spontaneous. Taking it sportily or spiritedly would have shown positivism and signs of maturity. Either way, the revelations led to a so called pretending friend who unfriended out of its own Negativity that flow bad vibrations. According to me, the so called friend could have turned a negative comment (if he so thought) turn into an opportunity to showcase his dedication to providing excellent service and demonstrate how clients/customers were given a priority. This would have created a level of professionalism and publicly puts the customer service dedication above competitors. It could have been a personal connect when they receive an individual response and in all reality, it is good for business.
Well, with this note, back to the point of Negativity. How many times we find ourselves surrounded by people who have their toxic negativity affecting our minds? Almost everywhere we find people who have the complexity of nature, the inferiority complex and the ego levels on a rise. We sense a tinge of jealousy in the twinkle of their eye! We often come across the hypocrites, the cribbers, the mud slingers and all who constantly whine and nag around, knowingly or unknowingly pulling us down with their Negativity. We find snobs who reveal their personal attitudinal traits. Snobs who who tend to patronize, rebuff, or ignore people regarded as social inferiors and imitate, admire, or seek association with people regarded as social superiors. All aren’t the same but all are humans – the rich and the class matter but snobbishness overcast a negative impression dwindling the reputation.
Negativity affects a person’s well being drastically. It is we, who need to identify the ones who make us cranky, irritated and who pushes us forth to edge, forcing us to lose our patience! Their Negativity signals a sign of a sick mind. They vent their ego, tend to be intruders and butt in with their pride that sometimes trigger argument and misunderstandings. These kind of people always give star ratings to their point of view to perfection and implant in minds of others that what they do and say is right – you follow. They often over analyze situations, making mountain out of a mole hill. They tend to end up irrationally, sums up to leave impressions of frustration and ego bursts. Sticking around such fanatic, ends one in bad state of mind too.
So, what’s the point in focusing to Negativity? It concerns. When we come across Negative people, it concerns You – your family – your Children. Children are good observers and at every stage follow your footsteps. If you stumble, chances are they can stumble some day. If you are pessimist, they could turn to be pessimist too. A parent or a teacher transmit their qualities and unless and until, you don’t chance your negativity, chances are children may adopt your style of character traits. Whenever we transmit our traits, thoughts to others in awareness to a child, the red signal flickers. Whenever we show our inner fears, our attitudinal traits reveal negativity to children, the red signal flickers. Watch out and guard your own thought process. Think twice before you act. You maybe a victim of your own negative influence. Be positive, be optimist and be natural. No pride, no ego, no being hypocrite. Stop being arrogant. Stop being irritational. Stop being impractical.
Here are some simple steps to guide to ban the Negativity Within You (Even me):
Be optimist – We fail to do this when real time comes as fear grips in minds.
Live in Present and think of future. Often, we think a lot ahead as to ‘what will happen’ and take negativity in our stride.
Stop being Hypocrite. No sin like this one.
Self Pity – This only hurts in the end.
Don’t mud slinger – The worst of worst situation arise due to mud slinging. Blame turns lame.
Stop Nagging. – Naggers are biters.
Mind own business – people don’t like to listen nor many take criticism with spirits.
Shrug off – show off. Show business might be good but too much showing off ends up to create unnecessary enemies.
Be discreet. Do not reveal your mind too much. Brimmed full, it spills beans too.
Accept your Imperfections. Everyone makes mistakes. It stings when somebody points your imperfections. Improve upon.
Finally Challenge Negative Thoughts. Stop worrying and self help to stop anxiety. Emotions are powerful. They can override thoughts and profoundly influence behavior. But if you are emotionally intelligent, you can harness the power of your emotions.
*Remain Hopeful : During challenging and difficult times, it’s the need of the hour to keep the faith and Be Hopeful.
*Manage self : Be strong, guard your feelings and impulses
*Don’t panic: Rebound from frustration and disappointment
*Sort for help or guidance : Ask for and get support when needed
*Solve : Solve problems in positive manner.
Being cool and calm – meditating – listening to music or just ask yourself questions : Am I doing the right thing? Am I being positive? What will be the reaction of my Negativity to others? It all matters. Grow a tree of peace in your garden and let Positivity flow in fresh air and I guess, we all need these tips some time or the other.
To conclude, here’s a mention of a friend who commented on my status post, ‘He unfriended you for good. He did not deserve to be a friend” but I guess, it has been a creation of a topic on ‘Negativity’ and I wouldn’t have written this if this did not happen. Thanks to the ‘Unfriended friend’ – my thought process scale on. By the way, it can be any person whose ‘Negativity’ can knock you down – at home, at work place or any where. Just unfriend without letting the emotions shattering you down and move away from Negative people – It makes sense.
