Poetry Month : In US, National Poetry Month is more 'Learning
Poetry, Writing

words, build vocabulary and learn how to rhyme. Here's on How to

stuff healthy for children. Ask the child to make their own
Recipe Chart. Make Child Nutrition a priority. Serve the best
healthy Breakfast to the whole family for a week. Gift kids best
Table wares like Mug, Glass, Mats, Bowls and also can follow up
a Table Manners Session.
Get to do a Online NIE Project for the class or

: January is the
month for Kite flying. Make a scrap book and jot down all the
quotes you find on Kidsfreesouls Quotes or Real Stuff. You can
even search the web to find Quotes by famous leaders, celebrity
quotes, Inspirational, motivational or any. Make some kites and
write selected quotes on it. Display on school walls or your
room. Why, fly them high and when the kite is cut, your quote
message will reach to one who gets it. By trying to find a few
quotations, children end up learning many and can even use them
while writing compositions, letters, etc.
Collect Fairy Tales from Grimm's Fairy Tales :
Jacob Grimms was born this month. So, collect fairy tales
from Grimm's Fairy Tales books and write reviews. It is so much
fun to read, narrate and write reviews of
Hansel & Gretel, Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Rumpelstiltskin, Cinderalla, Sleeping Beauty etc.
Children can
even paste stickers in their scraps.
DECEMBER
Computer Literacy Month: Make the Children Lean new Technology keeping in mind
the Safety Rules. Before getting on the web, let the kids know
proper method of typing on the keyboards - know the parts of the
computer and how to operate the basic programs. Make them use
the Educational CDs and Games on Computer to master the
computing skills. Also, make children aware of using
Kidsfreesouls and other Safe surfing websites - With technology
changing rules, even Safe sites take children to other pages for
which safe sites are not responsible. Hence, make the children
aware of Safety Rules and all that goes with Social networkings,
chats, emails and forwards, etc.

of the tiny toddlers would like to listen to a story before they
sleep. Stories like Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood, etc.
influence the child and they learn the
Moral Values . Read
the stories aloud to kids and also find the
trouble shooting areas on their
reading habits. Teachers/Parents may follow the
Guidelines and use these stories for
'Project work' - Make them read, write reviews, know the moral
and find what part they like best and why. The kids can read the

Story Writing Month
With Reading in
progress for at least half an hour of various stories, follow 'How
to Write a Story' and let the kids get to imagine to write a
paragraph. Gradually, help them to write a para and
blog it here. By end of
the month, you can find a story written with a child's
imagination in a simple way. If you want, you can write a para a
week and you have four simple paragraphs. This can be a
beginning to make them write simple short stories.
November - a Geography Awareness
Month and it can be quick to find Kidsfreesouls on the
map here.
Kids can sort to find different places on
Google Maps
or in an Atlas and all the geographical locations, etc. For More

OCTOBER
Colorful world of Stamps and a hobby collecting them is
great fun and exchanging with friends. October is the month for the
World Post Day. Celebrated on 9th October, the anniversary of the
establishment of the Universal Postal
Union in 1874 in the Swiss Capital, Bern, it was declared World Post
Day by the UPU Congress held in Tokyo, Japan in 1969. Since then,
countries across the world participate annually in the celebrations. The
Posts in many countries use the event to introduce or promote new postal
products and services.
Stamp Collecting is a great hobby
- it combines learning of geography, travel, history and even admiring
people and fond cartoon characters. Philately is an all time favorite
hobby also one of the channels for education - The World Post Day can
revive the fading Letter writing to epals.

September has a Banned Books week? It is observed since 1982 and this
Banned Books week celebrate the mark of freedom to read.
This year, the week-long Banned Books
celebrations will be held from Sept 29-6 October. Banned
Books Week is sponsored by the American Booksellers Association, the
American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression, the
American
Library Association (ALA), the Association of American Publishers,
the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the National
Association of College Stores.The
Library of Congress Center for the Book endorses it.
