Guess who sang the song? Well, Strawberry fields and hmmm…this is the first fruit that ripes in spring! Strawberries symbolize perfection and righteousness. Even, bring peace and prosperity.

In US, 94% household consumes strawberries and almost 53% children in the age group 7- 9 years old, pick strawberries as their favorite fruit.

Ancient Romans believed that strawberries alleviated symptoms of melancholy, fainting, all inflammations, fevers, throat infections, kidney stones, bad breath, attacks of gout and diseases of the blood, liver and spleen.

In fact, Strawberries are low fat, low calorie; high in vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, potassium. Thus, it definitely reduces the risk of cancer and heart attacks.

Today, when I prepared an Apple and Strawberry Juice with added lemon juice, it sure reminded me to pen down on Strawberry.

It is said, soup made of strawberries was served to newly weds in france and folklore states that if you split a double strawberry in half and share with someone, you are apt to fall in Love!

Strawberry Milk Shake

Thick milkshake made with strawberry ice cream and frozen strawberries.

Mix Strawberries, milk and ice cream and churn for a smoothie. And, there you go with your sweet buds. 

You can use any berry you like in this recipe, including raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries. Fresh and frozen berries work equally well.
